The Brentano Quartet is named for Antonie Brentano, whom many scholars consider to be Beethoven's "Immortal Beloved", the intended recipient of his famous love confession. Formed 20 years ago, the Quartet has since then garnered numerous accolades and performed in major halls all over the world.

In addition to standard quartet repertoire, the Brentano Quartet has performed many musical works pre-dating the string quartet as a medium, and has commissioned works from some of the most important composers of our time. The Brentano Quartet will present an evening featuring the music of Bruce Adolphe, who will also present one of his Piano Puzzlers frequently heard on NPRs Performance Today. The Piano Puzzler begins at 7:15 p.m. in the Concert Hall.
