| Description | |
Julius Watkins was the first prominent jazz French horn artists in American musical history. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Julius lived an adventurous life as a jazz soloist, sideman, composer, and teacher. He performed on over 100 recordings and performed throughout Europe and the northeastern United States. The festival at VCU will pay tribute to Julius and promote awareness for the Jazz French horn genre through master classes, clinics, and performances. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m.
Students:$20 Adults:$25
Students + Solo competition participation: $25.
