Optimal control can be a helpful tool in the analysis of dynamical systems for which there is an interest to affect the system's natural dynamics in a "most" effective way. In this talk she will review the basic problem statement in optimal control and how it can be used to analyze some biomedical models. A few examples will be reviewed but special focus will be given to results the analysis of a best treatment schedule for tumor reduction by antiangiogenic therapy.
