Creative art therapy (CAT) uses expressive art forms to relax the body and mind and help relieve stress. Come meet the Director of Cultural Programs at VCU Medical Center, P. Muzi Branch, at our Stony Point location to learn about the basics, the benefits, and the barriers of art therapies and how they can be useful for patients and family members. Participants will learn about different types of CAT including art therapy, dance therapy, drama therapy, music therapy and writing therapy, and how to remove perceived barriers to participation. After a brief talk there will be time for questions and discussion with the instructor and fellow participants.
