If you want to learn more about the link between nutrition, exercise and cancer, join VCUHS Massey Cancer Center Dietitian Elizabeth Miller in June for a series of free classes at our Stony Point location. Topics presented during these small group classes will include: · Healthy eating during cancer survivorship, including a demonstration on how to make a healthy smoothie to incorporate more vegetables/fruits into your daily diet · Eating and cooking tips for safe and effective weight loss · Tips for eating healthy while dining out · Information on exercise from a trained physical/occupational therapist · Strategies for losing weight by one of our Massey Cancer Center social workers · Mindful eating tips In addition, a short group walk (for those who are able) will help incorporate recommended steps into your daily routine.
