The importance of an evidence-based active learning approach will be considered, followed by a survey of active learning techniques. Freely available technologies that can be used to assist with those techniques will be reviewed as well. Each technique will be utilized in class so that attendees can get a feel for how and when they can be used. New material will be covered in the updated version of this talk, if you attended last year's presentation. Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a laptop or an iPad. All in the VCU community are welcome to attend and are encouraged to bring their own lunches. Please register to attend at http://rampages.us/howtotalks.
