This presentation will contextualize the need for and value of universal mental illness prevention measures as well as offer a way to do so. The work is based on a critical analysis of the post 9/11 Department of Defense's Mental Healthcare Delivery System. A preclinical mental illness prevention model will be introduced as a means to recognize and target sub clinical symptoms and functional impairment in patients and peers.
