The VCU Center for Environmental Studies in collaboration with the University of Richmond Departments of Environmental Studies, International Studies, and Geography and the Environment will be hosting the first individual in the Global Environment Speaker Series, Dr. Gary Machlis. Dr. Machlis will be giving a seminar based upon his new book, The Future of Conservation in America: A Chart for Rough Water. Dr. Machlis served in the Obama Administration as a scientific advisor for to the Director of the National Park Service, Jon Jarvis, who also co-authored this text.
Immediately following the seminar, a student-led poster session will be held in the auditorium of the Life Sciences Building. The intent here is to foster increased collaboration between units, faculty, and students from VCU and UR.
