Spark, Ignite, or Lightning talks are very short presentations designed to share the work of a large number of colleagues in a short amount of time. To maximize the time together and to learn about each other’s work in a dynamic way, talks in the SOE "Spark Talks" series will be limited to two minutes per presenter (no more than two slides). This series is open to the public and external partners.

Please consider presenting and/or attending one or more upcoming sessions this spring semester. We have invited faculty from schools across VCU as well as nearby universities so that we can "spark" research collaborations and opportunities. The dates and topics for this spring are as follows:

  • February 19, 2021: Family and Community Well-Being: Resilience, Work-Life Balance, and Trauma-Informed Practice
  • March 26, 2021: Equity, Privilege, and Power in Education
  • April 30, 2021: Social-Emotional Learning and Mental Health in Schools
