This event is a localized version of the popular Global Game Jam (GGJ), a unique, free event held worldwide among game creators. Participants collaborate to develop original and experimental video games based on a secret theme. There will be multiple sessions across 4 days all located at James Branch Cabell Library.
The event is a partnership between The Workshop at VCU Libraries, RVA Games, Game Creators Coalition, the Communication Arts Department, and the Kinetic Imaging Department.

The events are free and open to the public, registration is encouraged but not required.
In partnership with the event, The Workshop has organized a series of beginner-friendly workshops for people curious to learn more about video game development. No previous experience is required.
