Virginia State University's Office of Academic Affairs & College of Humanities and Social Sciences presents "Black History, Black Mental Health: Trauma, Resilience & Triumph," commemorating Central State Hospital's 150th year. Iconic black psychologist Dr. Na'im Akbar will speak as part of the university's "Breaking the Chains" Summit. A special faculty and student panel discussion will follow. The event also features musical performances by VSU's Dr. Billy Taylor Jazz Program Ensemble. No registration is necessary.
