As the weather continues to get warmer, we will spend more time outside. Understanding how to protect your skin from the sun will help prevent developing skin cancer, the abnormal growth of skin cells, that most often develop on skin that has been exposed to the sun. The most common type of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma, affects more than four million people in the nation each year. Dr. Lydia Johnson, dermatologist at VCU Health, will discuss steps you can take to protect your skin as well as our most advanced screening technology and treatment options for patients at high risk of or diagnosed with skin cancer.

This event will stream live on VCU Massey Cancer Center's Facebook page.
